(a) Principles

Understanding of the following principles: open- and closed-loop systems, servomechanism, feedback, follow-up, null, overshoot, damping, deadband, hunting, proximity switches, analogue transducers, synchro systems and components, digital tachometers and encoders, inductance, and capacitance transmitters;

(b) Construction operation and use of the following synchro-system components: resolvers, differential, control and torque, E and I transformers, inductance transmitters, capacitance transmitters, synchronous transmitters; Construction, operation and use of servomechanism and PID controller; Fault-finding of servo defects, reversal of synchro leads, hunting.
